STAFF SHOW: Sofia Grytsenko

Existing between the frequencies, Cassiowave is an experimental multi-genre deep dive into the endless pool of music. Sofia, your host, will be your guide for the genre or artist of the week, ranging from electronic, rock, indie, and international pop! As your one stop shop into the unknown, local artists and bands will also make surprise appearances whenever they cross through the wormhole. Come join before the tide pulls back.

HOT TRANS BABES IN YOUR AREA

STAFF SHOW: Joey Duprey & Connor Pan

Joey and Connor are sexy trans babes that yap about their lives and sexual liberation in the context of race and queerness. They bring up media, personal experiences, and a secret third thing when exploring the prevalence of these issues in their everyday lives and how they intersect. Their show brings in bi-weekly guests to share their own experiences and insights on the central topics and more. Taking inspiration from shows such as Talk Nasty To Me, Gender Spiral, and Jumping In An Elevator, the show is full of fun casual banter while diving into some deep and complex issues.

THE JUNK DRAWER

STAFF SHOW: Seraphim Bear

Indie/miscellaneous radio streaming with occasional introductions between each song, taken predominantly from the most obscure music I find in my collection of vintage cassettes that I turn digital, as well as the occasional requests. I find the oddest cassettes I can in old spaces, write down music playing in various shops, take recommendations off the street - hence the name ‘Junk Drawer’, and compile them into playlists.

Music that only the true GEEKS will love. Playing 90's and 00's geek rock, nerdcore, hiphop, and third-wave ska. Occasionally taking phone-ins and having guests to discuss anything nerdy between songs. Selection will change slightly to reflect the season/holidays.

I bring in guests to talk about fandom spaces and internet habits they were in/had as children and now. It’s an insight on their geeky past and geeky present. Every episode we learn about someone’s interests or if it’s just myself I discuss old internet phenomenon that happened (EX. Fandom Culture/Phases, etc). Truly just a space for people to geek out to me and me to geek out on my own! (It’s a little inspired by SmoshAlike’s show URL :3)

Welcome to Moon’s Muses, a silly show for all music-loving earth-dwellers! A jumble of sounds is in its orbit, from experimental, to piano pop, to psych rock, to cabaret…to incoherent screams? There will be a new trail mix of songs every week, interjected with full album listening parties. The show will conclude with a ‘Hope of the Week’ task for the listener to take with them- at least until the government realizes the host has breached lab containment and takes her away.

A show where each song/band from the East Coast bleeds into the next via a shared connection (common member, shared performance, common inspiration/style). Showing how interconnected the East Coast scene is from basement shows in Boston to steel lounge performances in Asheville.

ANTI-MUSIC HOUR

Ruby Driscoll

Anti-Music hour would be a show dedicated to extreme music. Including but not limited to grindcore, slam, black metal, thrash and so on. The show would play bands local to the east coast and emerging artists in the scene. I may also indulge in more global noise scenes. The purpose of this show is to bring noise to the people!

DJ set, various genres from dariacore/hyperflip to japanese electronic hardcore to anime music/jpop to dubstep to uptempo hardcore... maybe even calmer sounds like shibuya-kei, house, etc. Generally whatever is in my library but it's most likely japanese influenced and fast-paced. Also potential for shitpost-esque music and bootleg remixes. bottom line is, i want to string together a bunch of weird sounds and make people confused but bop their heads at the same time

In this show, I would gather hits from various video games from vast genres with a common theme grouping each session together. The first show would be Hype Music from games like Jet Set Radio, Guilty Gear, Hotline Miami, Touhou, Ultrakill and maybe even things like Doom or Persona. The makeup of this show depends on how DJ'ing at WSVA works in my opinion.

Andy Rahl

Tune into Andy Rahl’s cosmic forecast and learn about the planets and how Big Daddy Saturn transiting the 7th house of community is actually messing us all up? A astrology talk show with music intermissions between topics. Main topic would be a summary of all major planet transit accruing. In a way it’s like a weather planet but just for planets, and the rain is actually Venus telling to put off school work so you can call your ex. This is strictly for entertainment purposes. Any predictions that ‘occur’ afterwards is by sheer coincidence.
